Mariza, with Special Guest Bebel Gilberto, to Perform at NJPAC This Fall

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Grammy nominee Mariza. The new face of Portuguese fado, has risen from a local phenomenon to one of the most widely acclaimed stars of the world music circuit. Witness Mariza and multi-Grammy-nominated Brazilian singer, Bebel Gilberto perform live Sunday, October 16, 2016 7:00 PM at Prudential Hall.

About Mariza:

This young singer with a rich, vibrant voice and a strong artistic personality has enjoyed highly successful international presentations, ranging from the Paris Olympia and New York's Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl and the Sydney Opera House.

Mariza released six albums, including a "best of" compilation . A Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, she has been honored by the city of Lisbon, the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, and the French government, which awarded her the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres.

About Bebel Gilberto:
Special guest Bebel Gilberto is a multi-Grammy-nominated Brazilian singer, the daughter of João Gilberto and singer Miúcha. Gilberto has been performing since her youth in Rio de Janeiro; several years after moving to New York City in 1991, her present sound of electronica-meets-Brazilian began to crystallize. "Gilberto's sound advances the bossa nova style of her parents' generation into a contemporary milieu," writes The Boston Globe.
