Critically lauded Raleigh, NC-based singer-songwriter Jeanne Jolly, who "melds folksy, soulful country with heavenly, heartfelt lyricism" (News & Observer) and "can easily shift to the dusky lilt of Alison Krauss or the sophisticated jazz phrasing of Ricki Lee Jones" (Missoulian), will release her second full-length studio album, A Place To Run, on her own Ramblewood Records today, October 2. The album's now available for pre-order with an instant download of "Boundless Love," which premiered at INDY Week.

Touring in support of the album, she kicks off her fall tour September 10, opening for Chatham County Line at Back Porch Music Series on the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, NC. The 13-city run includes stops in Nashville, New York, Boston, Charlotte, Decatur, Asheville, a hometown release show at Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, and an opening slot for Asleep At The Wheel at the Birchmere. A full list of dates is below.

Recorded at The Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, NC, A Place To Run was produced, mixed and mastered by her longtime collaborator and childhood friend Chris Boerner. The handpicked eight-piece studio band included lap steel player Allyn Jones, Phil Cook and Brad Cook from the acclaimed Raleigh band Megafuan, and Bon Iver drummer Matt McCaughan, and Boerner on guitar.

From the country-porch soul of "Gypsy Skin" to the beautifully complex tapestry of moody melodicism on "California" to the swampy and stately "Boundless Love," A Place To Run features seven original compositions with profound themes of love, loss, and running between these extremes, and a cover of "The Dreamer" written by Tallest Man on Earth.

She has shared the stage with artists including Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Billy Joe Shaver, Sam Bush, Scott Miller, Maura O'Connell, Chuck Mead, Chuck Prophet, and Jim Lauderdale. Jolly began her musical career as a featured vocalist for the Grammy award-winning jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, touring the U.S. and Canada.

After studying at Western Carolina University, she attended New England Conservatory of Music, where she received a master's degree in vocal performance, In 2012, she released her full-length album, Angels, which debuted in the Top 15 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. Her six-song EP, Falling In Carolina, was released in 2010.
