Wynn Walent's new record, with Friends from Here and There, is a benefit for Haiti, with all funds donated in honor of the record going directly to St. Luke's Hospital. Tracks were recorded in a small chapel in Tabarre, Haiti, as well as in Brooklyn. Walent spent several years living in Haiti and continues to travel back and forth extensively working to support the Haitian leadership at St. Luke's Hospital , which treats thousands every year, providing high level specialty care to patients who would otherwise have nowhere to go.

Coladera celebrates the gathering of João Pires (Portugal), and two Brazilian musicians Vitor Santana and the master percussionist Marcos Suzano and three musical worlds that honor the Lusophone rhythms, and holds Portuguese-speaking language as the touchstone of its present work. The worlds of Brazil and Portugal merge in a dialogue that is based only on classic guitars, percussions and voices, generating a rich and mestizo sound imaging. We hear echoes of Africa, of candomblé, fado and flamenco, of samba, rumba and mambo, Portuguese language with different accents - all flavored by the special spice of Suzano's acoustic percussion. All in the crudest and most direct way.

The Brazilian singer Marcia Castro started her career in her hometown of Bahia. With three released albums, Pecadinho, De Pés No Chão and Das Coisas Que Surgem, and performing with the likes of Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Tom Zé, Castro is an important name in the new and promising Brazilian contemporary music scene, mixing in regional elements with universal rhythms.

John Early is a comedian who was recently named one of 50 Comedians You Should Know in 2015 by New York Magazine's Vulture and one of NYC's Top Ten Downtown Cabaret Performers by Time Out New York. He has appeared on 30 Rock, Broad City, High Maintenance, the feature Fort Tilden (SXSW Grand Jury Prize), the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp for Netflix, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and in his own short films which he writes and directs. He is a writer for Season 4 of Billy on the Street. He is an Artist in Residence and Comedy Curator at Ars Nova, where he hosts the monthly variety show Showgasm. He performs his solo show Literally Me at Joe's Pub, a live sketch show Hey with oft-collaborator Kate Berlant, co-hosts a weekly stand up show at Cake Shop, and has been a part of both the Riot LA and SXSW comedy festivals. With playing that is "fierce and lyrical" and music that is "other-worldly" (Strad Magazine), Jessica Meyer turns her viola into an entire orchestra of emotion to embody a different state of being. Inspired by everything from Bach, Brahms and Blues to Flamenco, Indian Raga, and Appalachian fiddling, Sounds of Being takes audience members on a journey through emotion. Meyer drums on her viola, sings with it, turns the tuning pegs while performing, and draws the bow on anything and everything, all while using a loop pedal in a uniquely symphonic way.

New York/Venezuelan experimental musician, XI.ME.NA is an extremely eclectic songwriter. Armed with an array of digital and analogue technologies, XI.ME.NA uses her voice to blend the music of disparate times and places, creating alluring Sonic Collages in real time. Called "pop diva of opera" by Parenthesis Magazine, Xi.me.na migrates confidently between avant-garde opera and electronic pop: from stacked harmonies and joyful hooks, to moodier, reflective moments that showcase her sophisticated vocals.

Josiah Early, son of a Mennonite Minister from Virginia, grew up listening to hymns every Sunday at church and bluegrass and country music just about everywhere else. This rich tapestry of sound is the inspiration for his music. His songwriting is influenced by the Shenandoah and his time spent living in New York City and Los Angeles. He has played shows across the nation and worked with the incredible Justin Townes Earle. He is currently recording his debut album with producer Jamie Candiloro (REM, Willie Nelson, Eagles, Ryan Adams). Among Josiah's many talents he has also had success as an actor, most known for his role as Robert Dittrich on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire."

Luiz Caracol is a Portuguese singer, songwriter and guitarist whose music has a strong mix of influences from Portugal, Brazil and Africa. He will perform his album Devagar for the first time in the US, collaborating in trio with percussionist Ruca Rebordão and Brazilian viola caipira player Gustavo Roriz. This virtuosic, emotive trio creates a vibrant sound that makes our heart beat fast and puts a smile into our souls.

Eleanor Dubinsky is a New York City based singer-songwriter, cellist, guitarist and performance artist. Singing in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, her music combines melodic, soothing vocals with grooves inspired by Brazilian, Latin American and Cape Verdean traditions. In 2014 Eleanor and Gustavo Roriz toured as a duo throughout Portugal, sparking this growing collaboration with the Luiz Caracol Trio.

Pete Molinari is one of the UK's most exciting musical talents. Born into a large Maltese, Italian and Egyptian family in Kent, he became fascinated with the 1960s' folk of Leadbelly, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. After reading Jack Kerouac, Molinari set off for New York where he honed his craft in the blues clubs of the East Village. Spending time in Memphis, New Orleans, San Francisco and Los Angeles, he returned to his hometown to record his debut album Walking Off The Map with Billy Childish. While recording his follow-up, A Virtual Landslide, at Toe Rag Studios in London, Molinari began working with producer Liam Watson, invigorating his sound with a full band.

Lyrical-folk-rock singer/songwriter Kaylyn Marie returns to Joe's Pub after releasing her debut EP Where I Need earlier this year. The NYC-based troubadour's belief in the power of story-telling cultivates her soul-stirring tunes. Though noted for her vocal prowess, candid lyricism and innate musical sensibility, it is her deeply sincere performances that grab the audience and don't let go.

"I want the band to mark a moment in time, to celebrate the being of something new; The light at the end of the tunnel, the first step toward revealing something that needs to be seen," says singer-songwriter Casey McPherson of Alpha Rev. Following the Triple A Radio success of New Morning (2010), the band's third album Bloom (2013) is a set of personally transformative and redemptive songs. "Casey and I met when we were really young, and have been playing music with each other off and on over the past 13 years," explains guitarist Zak Loy. "That growth comes across in the music the group is creating now," he says. Rooted in lyrical wisdom, the addition of drummer Tabber Millard is credited for the band's contemporary tribal rhythms. Jeff Bryant rounds out the band, playing pedal steel, piano, organ and bass.

Jared & The Mill are an indie folk rock band from Arizona - Jared Kolesar, Michael Carter, Larry Gast III, Chuck Morriss III, Josh Morin and Gabe Hall-Rodrigues. The group started out in the local scene, playing with friends when before they knew it, they were a touring band with two years of dive bars and opening gigs in arenas under their belts. The miles informed their music and molded their souls, solidifying their band bond. They write about life, about getting older, about family and friends, those sweet things and bitter things.

Ethan Lipton & His Orchestra is sepia-toned frontman Lipton and band mates Eben Levy (guitar), Ian Riggs (bass) and Vito Dieterle(sax). With melancholy wit and a cockeyed worldview, they deliver songs steeped in American traditions of yore (jazz, blues, country, lounge), but his subjects are thoroughly modern (Rahm Emanuel, oat groats, pets, dumplings).
