Portland Ovations brings Grammy-award winning group Dan Zanes and Friends to Hannaford Hall at USM Portland for a sold out fun-filled family concert on Saturday, February 4 at 1pm.

As a member of the Boston based band The Del Fuegos, Dan Zanes made several albums that rocked and is continuing to do so with his latest band Dan Zanes and Friends.

After getting married and moving to New York, Zanes found that he enjoyed making music that the whole family could enjoy together, rather than music just for adults or just for children. Several of Dan Zanes albums include appearances by friends he had made while with The Del Fuegos, such as Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow, Lou Reed, Aimee Mann, Rosanne Cash and many more. His album Catch That Train! won the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Musical Album for Children and the 2011 release Little Nut Tree has been receiving rave reviews.

About the show: "Portland Ovations presentation of Dan Zanes and Friends is sure to turn into a rockin' interactive dance party that transcends language, genre, and age. Where kids bounce to catchy and playful tunes while adults appreciate the hip musicality of early rock-and-roll and soulful originals coming together."

Tickets for Dan Zanes and Friends are sold out but were $10 for both Ovations' Members and the general public. Support for Dan Zanes and Friends, is provided by New England Foundation for The Arts.
