By: Caryn Robbins
2012 saw the release of Crystal Castles' third full-length album, aptly titled (III) out on Casablanca/Republic/Fiction Records. Having received glowing appraise across the board from the media, (III) debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, with its best sales week upon release. The album also topped numerous 'Best Of' and 'End of Year' lists, with Pitchfork praising the bands "meditations on the exploitation of women and children and religious oppression" concluding with "(III), they've crafted an album of haunted protest music." The release also became the NME readers #1 most voted Best Album of 2012, as well as Hype Machines #1 most talked about album online, Worldwide for 2012.
On February 18, the band will be releasing their second single 'Sad Eyes' to be accompanied with their first official video directed and edited by long-term Friends Rob Hawkins and Marc Pannozzo (Crime Wave).03/15 - Ultra Music Festival - Miami, FL
