THE ZIEGFELD BALLROOM Launches in Midtown

The Ziegfield Ballroom officially launched on Wednesday, February 28th in Midtown Manhattan and Broadwayworld was there for all the excitement. The event celebrated Manhattan's most distinctive venue opening that has occurred in decades. The lavish reception celebrated the release of the 2018 Sophisticated Weddings: New York Edition, the go-to guide wedding planning.

The Ziegfeld Ballroom is in the legendary former Ziegfeld Theater space, where more Hollywood movie premieres were held than in any theater outside of Los Angeles. The event unfolded on both levels of Ziefgeld's new Art Deco inspired space. The ballroom features a custom dance floor and a 26-foot square gold bar with a stage in the center.

The Ziegfeld Ballroom boasts a lavish food service under the direction of Executive Chef Matthew Tiscornia. His talents were well evidenced at the launch event with passed hors d'oeuvres, four themed stations -Earth, Fire, Raclette and Charcuterie, a three course a la carte experience, and passed miniature desserts.

The new, truly grand Ziegfeld Ballroom can host more than 1,200 guests for cocktail receptions, theater style presentations, and serve over 800 guests for seated dinners. A state-of-the-art kitchen designed to service such numbers. Five meeting rooms are divided by air walls on the mezzanine, cutting edge audio visual, and telecommunications capabilities with built in video walls, and an on-site parking garage. It is the most versatile and technologically advanced event space to open in New York City in many years. The 21,331 square feet are spread over three floors including a 9,200 square foot column-free ballroom, which is one of New York City's largest.

The grand, impressive space is the result of a 20-month, $25 million gut renovation, the Ziegfeld Ballroom is owned and operated by Core Ziegfeld LLC, which also includes the award-winning event space Gotham Hall, some 20 blocks South of the Ziegfeld, in its portfolio.

The launch event for Ziegfeld ballroom was the first of many affairs that will be built on the rich history of the venue. New Yorkers and many more will be thrilled to attend meetings, parties, and soirees at this wonderfully designed setting.
