Spring is finally here so now's the time to gather your group and head to some of New York City's best rooftop bar and lounge destinations. Enjoy some fresh air, greenery, great drinks, food, and the finest views of the city. These are ideal destinations before or after the theatre. We've selected our very faves around Manhattan. 230 Fifth (Nomad) This is New York City's largest outdoor rooftop garden and fully enclosed penthouse lounge. The spacious, attractive garden area is open to the sky with great seating options and fabulous views. 230 Fifth offers artisanal cocktails, global bites and weekend brunches. Hotel Chantelle (Lower East Side) This spot has one of the most beautiful rooftops in the neighborhood with a welcoming and stylish ambiance. You can have that top of the town feel in their all-weather environment. It is a favorite weekend brunch spot and they have now introduced a special prix fixe dinner special. Visit:

Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar (FiDi) Located on the 16th floor of The Conrad Hilton, this rooftop features sweeping views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbor. They serve an array of unique cocktails and delicious small plates. A popular favorite is the Prosecco & Ice Pop cocktail is a fruity People's Pop ice pop topped with chilled Prosecco or Rose from their own tap. Popular flavors include Blueberry Peach, Strawberry Lemongrass and Empire Apple. The ice pop options vary on a monthly basis. Visit:

Gallow Green (Chelsea) This lush garden hideaway is located atop The McKittrick Hotel, the home of Sleep No More. Opening on 4/20 for guests, their weekend buffet brunches will begin on 4/28. You'll like this relaxing spot that has a top beverage program and a seasonally inspired menu. Visit:

Refinery Rooftop (Garment District) Refinery Rooftop is the crown jewel of the Refinery Hotel. It is a year-round rooftop lounge and nothing quite compares to a spring afternoon sipping on a Frosé with breathtaking Empire State views. To kick off this rooftop season, Refinery is introducing a Spring Rosé menu, complete with a Sparkling Rosé cocktail, Wölffer Dry Rosé Cider on draft, or a Frosé Slushie. A new seasonal menu will be launching in May, just in time to relax and absorb the sunshine. Monarch Rooftop (Herald Square) Monarch, which opened in 2013 and has become one of New York City's most popular rooftop lounges. It consists of an expansive 5,000 square feet of interior and exterior space with two bars, and a spectacular view of the nearby Empire State Building. For the spring and summer, Monarch has introduced a collection of vegan cocktails and has added seasonal light fare dishes to its menu. Visit:

Haven Rooftop (Times Square) Located atop the Sanctuary Hotel, it is the year-round oasis that offers high-rise views of the Big Apple complete with seasonal menu options and cocktails. Guests can indulge in selections such as Sesame Crusted Tuna, Crab Cakes, Havenly Chicken or Lobster Rolls. The menu pairs perfectly with their playful drinks with options including Star Sangria, the Haven Mojito, and the Supernova. The midtown rooftop also offers a tasty Saturday and Sunday brunch with menu selections such as Eggs Benedict, Brunch Pizza and French Toast. Social Drink & Food (Times Square) This rooftop portion of Yotel has both an indoor and outdoor space. You can enjoy visiting in all types of weather without sacrificing the beauty of the rooftop feel. Be sure to check their schedule as they will be hosting movie nights on the roof. Upstairs at The Kimberly (Midtown East) Located atop the Kimberly Hotel is the sleek rooftop destination that you'll love to visit. With sweeping city views and comfortable seating for parties of all sizes, it's a spot where you can relax in the evening over drinks or indulge in their very pleasing menu that includes weekend brunch. Cantina Rooftop (Hell's Kitchen) This is one of New York City's more expansive rooftop restaurants and cocktail bars. It will reopen for the summer season on April 18th with newly appointed Executive Chef Saul Montiel. You'll enjoy sipping cocktails and enjoying their top Mexican food with one of the best views in New York City. The Hell's Kitchen rooftop will feature Chef Saul Montiel's new, authentic Mexican creations focusing on parrillada style bbq-grill inspired by Chef Montiel's native city of Hidalgo featuring starters and side dishes such as Mexican street corn, chipotle wings and table-side made guacamole. The menu will also include dishes such as grilled short ribs, seared whole Mediterranean Seabass Talla style, and chef's choice tacos presented as a "Taquiza" platter and an array of tostadas ceviche's.
