Dining on CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY in NYC

If you're looking for a place to dine on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, look no further. And with this year's calendar that has a Christmas and Hanukah crossover, many restaurants are celebrating "Chrismukkah" with special menus. The Green Fig (570 Tenth Avenue near 42nd Street, 4th Floor of YOTEL) The Modern Israeli restaurant will celebrate the overlapping of Christmas and Hanukkah Dec. 24th and 25th by serving Chrismukkah Brunch and Dinner complete with creative dishes by Chef Gabriel Israel that unite the cuisines of the Jewish diaspora, from the Middle East to North Africa to Eastern Europe, with Stateside seasonal favorites. Bagatelle (1 Little West 12th Street) Instead of lounging at home on Christmas, head downtown to the Meatpacking District for Bagatelle NYC's Christmas Day Brunch where you can feast on classic French fare. Start brunch right with Scottish Salmon Scrambled Eggs, a Croque Monsieur or Gnocchi a la Parisienne de Nicolas. Sip on Moet & Chandon Rose to complement your meal. Mastro's Steakhouse New York (1285 Avenue of the Americas) This stylish restaurant that serves steakhouse favorites, sushi and more will be open for Christmas Eve from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Christmas Day from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The lounge will also open on Christmas Day at 3:00 pm. Mastro's is only a few blocks away from Radio City and the festive displays at Rockefeller Center. Haven Rooftop (132 West 47th Street at the Sanctuary Hotel) For a meal with an NYC view, go all the way up to Haven Rooftop, and indulge yourself with its "Havenly" Chicken or Tower of Tuna Tartare. Don't worry about the cold air creeping in, the rooftop is perfectly prepared to make sure you stay warm while being 100 feet in the air with heat lamps and protective tents Haven will also be offering its annual prix-fixe Christmas menu for $65 each. Flinders Lane (162 Avenue A) On Christmas Eve, the Aussies at Flinders Lane will be hosting at fun and festive service on Christmas Eve. The $65 three-course tasting menu features delicious offerings like Flinders Steak Tartare (fried capers, watercress salad, oyster crème, crostinis) and Lobster Mornay (baby gem lettuce salad). Bistro 61 (1113 First Avenue) This Upper East Side eatery will a menu with a Chrismukkah theme on December 25th. The specific Chrismukkah-inspired dish is the Short Ribs Bourguignon, 8 Hour Slow Cooked Braised Short Ribs, Potato Latkes, Spiced Pear Apple Sauce. For Chef/Partner Adil Fawzi celebrating Chrismukkah is not just about this year's unusual overlap of the two holidays, but also the fact his partner celebrates Hanukkah, while he celebrates Christmas. Maxwell's Chophouse (1184 Broadway) This new steakhouse on Broadway at 28th is serving the regular menu on the 24th and 25th, with some nods to Chrismukkah like brisket and latke specials on Christmas Eve and Braised Lamb Shanks with Stuffed eggplant, and Potato Latkes, Apple Sauce, Sour Cream on Christmas. Mundo (37-06 36th Street, Long Island City, NY) On Christmas Day, Mundo, found within the Paper Factory Hotel, will be offering a Christmas a La Carte menu from 1pm - 8pm. Guests can check out selections including the Red Sonja, Scallops, Tuna Tartare, Truffle Risotto and The Factory Burger to name a few.
