Sofia's has been well known to the New York's Theater District for 37 years as a popular spot located in the Hotel Edison. Now in their new location, this elegant, yet comfortable spot has a wonderful bar space along with first and second level dining areas. And, private dining is available for their guests. Sofia's Italian Grill is a quiet restaurant retreat conveniently located near Rockefeller Center, Radio City, 5th Avenue and the theatre district.

Sofia Italian Grill features their renowned culinary traditions, contemporary cuisine and the grill expertise of the famed Kenny's Steakhouse which the family owned for 30 years.

Sofia's culinary staff is led by Executive Chef Michele Orsino, a native of Rome, Italy. From delicious appetizers, salads and paninis to entrees and desserts, there is something for everyone at Sofia's.

We stopped by on a Monday night for dinner and had the pleasure of meeting Frank Sophia. He delights at greeting the restaurant's guests and introducing them to Sofia's dining experience.

For an appetizer, we had Ostriche Con Panna Aeida ($15) a unique presentation of oysters with a delicate sour cream and raspberry caramel. A salad favorite, Pera Gorgonzola ($15) is beautifully presented with pears, fresh gorgonzola, and arugula with a delicious red wine cinnamon dressing. Prime Aged Sirloin ($46) proves that Sofia's knows how to prepare steaks perfectly and we ordered their Potato Croquette ($10) as a side. Fresh pasta, Linguine Pescatore ($26) with tender shrimp, scallops and crabmeat is served with a light tomato sauce. Of course, cannolis topped off our meal.

A vintage selection of wine, beer, and classic cocktails can be paired with your meal choices. The staff of Sofia Italian Grill is friendly and gracious, ready to discuss their menu with guests and make recommendations based on your preferences.

With a history of providing New Yorkers with an outstanding dining experience Sofia's is a great dining destination for family gatherings, friendly get-togethers and business outings. It is a restaurant you will visit again and again.
