ITERATION IV (FOR ALLEN) To Be Presented At LA MAMA MOVES! Dance Festival

La Mama Experimental Theatre Club will present Iteration IV (For Allen) by Findlay//Sandsmark as part of the 21st annual La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival.
Performances will take place April 30 and May 1 at 7:30 p.m. at The Club, located at 74A East 4th Street.
About the Work
Iteration IV (For Allen) continues the company’s series of iterative performance works, reimagining elements from earlier projects to explore new connections across visual and sonic forms. The piece draws on the writings and recordings of Allen Ginsberg and emphasizes an open, process-driven structure.
In a note, the artists state: “With the Iteration series of projects, we wanted to refrain from constructing a pre-text to the work… The iterative work is a culmination of many different artistic threads and is an open frame for the audience to experience without being saddled or burdened with terms, narrative or ideas of aboutness—set yourself free.”
Creative Team
Findlay//Sandsmark is led by Iver Findlay and Marit Sandsmark, with collaborators including Fabrice Moinet, Jean-Vincent Kerebel, Greta Jasaite, Peter Warren, and Oda Olivia Øverbø Lindegård. Additional programming is by Dag Egil Njaa.
The project is supported by the Norwegian Arts Council, Rogaland Fylkeskommune, and Stavanger Kommune, with New York co-production by Collapsable Giraffe.
Festival Details
La MaMa Moves! 2026 will run over five weeks in April and May, featuring twelve productions across four venues, along with workshops and public discussions. Curated by Nicky Paraiso, the festival highlights a range of contemporary dance artists and includes both in-person and hybrid programming.
Now in its 21st year, the festival continues to showcase emerging and established choreographers, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and underrepresented voices.
Ticket Information
Tickets are $30 general admission, $25 for students and seniors, with a $50 “Support the Artists” option. Festival packages are also available, and a limited number of $10 tickets will be offered for each performance.
