Garry Shandling's Twitter Revived Following Documentary

A documentary tribute to Garry Shandling, a comedian who died suddenly in 2016, aired on HBO last week. The four and a half hour film was directed by Judd Apatow.

According to Deadline, a group of Shandling's friends have decided to reactivate his Twitter account to share passages from the diaries that inspired the documentary.

The first tweet says: "Friends who love Garry, working with his estate, are opening up Garry's twitter." We will occasionally tweet material from the writings, notes and journals he has left us: 'Let life live through you. Presence. Compassion. Kindness.'"

Shandling died at his home at age 66. While the cause was initially believed to be a heart attack, an AUTOPSY later revealed it to be pulmonary thrombosis.

He was best known for his work in It's Garry Shandling's Show and The Larry Sanders Show. During his three-decade career, Shandling was nominated for 19 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, along with many other awards and nominations. He served as host of the GRAMMY AWARDS four times and as host of THE EMMY AWARDS three times.
