The Jean Cocteau Cinema will present a Tribute to Horror Classic Phantasm on Sat Oct 7th with director Don Coscarelli and star Le Kat Lester who will introduce the film and host a Q&A after the screening.

The Jean Cocteau Cinema will stage this special one-time event to get the Halloween season rolling on Saturday, October 7th at 8 PM. Tickets are $15 in advanced and $20 at the door per availability. A classic 70s American Horror Film, Phantasm has had a resurgence of interest in recent years thanks to the remastering of the original film and the premiere of Phantasm Ravager V which reunites Director Don Coscarelli with the original cast members including the seductive "Lady in Lavender" played by Kathy "Le Kat" Lester. Both talents will be traveling to Santa Fe to host the event and field audience questions after the screening as well as to meet and interact with fans.

Upon release in 1979, Phantasm became a worldwide critical and box-office success and spawned four well-received sequels including last year's Phantasm Ravager. The original Phantasm launched Coscarelli into a filmmaking career that earned him legendary status as a creator, both director and writer, of highly imaginative fantastical films, which characteristically melded frights and suspense with humor and more. In the early 00s Coscarelli teamed up with another broad quirky talent, Texas author Joe R. Lansdale (the creator of the Hap & Leonard TV series, who has graced the Jean Cocteau over its 4 years in existence under owner GEORGE RR MARTIN for several events) to make the beloved cult hit Bubba Ho Tep.

Adored for her iconic role, Le Kat has a rabid international following of "Phans" flocking to meet her at her numerous live appearances. Le Kat's creative career continues to flourish as a multi-dimensional performer. Jazzy, bluesy, and a little naughty, her lavish musical production, "Le Kat's Boudoir Rouge Extravaganza" showcases her singing and songwriting prowess with the theatrical flare of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

One of the highlights of this event at the Jean Cocteau will be Le Kat singing "The Lady in Lavender," her self-penned original song inspired by The Tall Man's seductive alter ego.
