Live at Zedel Announces Autumn/Winter Season

Live At Zédel, Soho's unique live entertainment concept at The Crazy Coqs, announces their Autumn/Winter season.

Produced in partnership with Fane Productions Ltd, Live At Zédel's Autumn/Winter season programme is, once again, heaving with incredible new talent and established acts from across a whole host of disciplines including live music, musical theatre, cabaret, comedy and spoken word.

Highlights include La Voix Meets... - a series of one-off intimate conversations live on stage with renowned comedian and star of Absolutely Fabulous Jennifer Saunders and Hi-de-Hi! star Su Pollard in October, and television and West End actress Harriet Thorpe in November. Fenella Fielding will return with excerpts from her biography, Do You Mind if I Smoke? and renowned restaurant critic Jay Rayner performs excerpts from his critically acclaimed book, My Dining Hell. Award-winning actress and musical theatre star Janie Dee who is currently appearing in Sondheim's Follies at the National returns with two shows Janie Dee: Off the Record and Janie Dee: At the BBC in October and the record-breaking West End and Broadway actor John Owen-Jones will play three concerts in December. Fascinating Aida star Dillie Keane will play eight final performances of her Drama Desk Award nominated solo cabaret show in November and, as previously announced, Mad Men star Bryan Batt's one-man cabaret show paying tribute to his life growing up in New Orleans plays in September.

Cabaret highlights include Gorgeous Guys, with Ryan Molloy, Hal Cazalet, Dimitri Kleioris, Emmanuel Kojo and Rob Herron. Former Wicked star Suzie Mathers performs for one night only, Simon Green brings his Drama Desk Award winning show Simon Green and David Shrubshole: Life is for Living for five performances and Anne Reid returns with A Night at the Pictures. Also returning, by popular demand is internationally-acclaimed West End and New York singer Lorna Dallas for two more performances of Home Again in October and November.

The programme features residences from the previously announced The Black Cat "Salon Des Artistes" who begin a Friday night residency, a new residency slot from internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe with his much-anticipated new show, Harold Sanditen's Open Mic Party, monthly on Thursdays and Marcel Lumont's Cabaret Fantastique. Hit musical theatre radio station Sunday Show Tunes on Radio Woking will be hosting a brand-new residency, The Late Late Show with Sunday Show Tunes which sees host Paul Branch break out of the studio for some musical theatre mayhem with his trusty side-kick Maureen (every month from 21 October).

The venue will also host a total of 15 events as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival which plays from 10 - 19 November and includes performances from Will Butterworth and Gyles Brandreth setting Oscar Wilde to music in Will Butterworth Quartet and Gyles Brandreth: The Nightingale and the Rose, The Jazz Music of Dudley Moore, Hard Rain: Barb Jungr sings Dylan and Cohen, and a host of International Artists. Other music highlights include John Dagleish and George Maguire who return for two more shows following sold-out performances in August.

Following the success of Alex Parker and Katie Lam's After You, the first musical to be commissioned by the venue, there will be a series of new musicals written by new writers produced specifically for The Crazy Coqs, launching with Henry Roadnight and Adam Johnson's hilarious piece The Dysfunctional Guide to Being a Third Wheel (29-30 October) and Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees's touching Fiver (26-27 November).

Christmas highlights include specials from Miss Hope Springs: Cocktails Après Noël with special guest Rula Lenska (28 - 30 December, 7pm), A Swingin' Christmas with Gary Williams (5-9 & 12-16 December, 7pm), Tori Scott: Vodka is the Reason for the Season (18 & 19 December (9.15pm) & 22 December (7pm), La Voix Festive Breakdown (18 December, 7pm), Ian Shaw's Shaw Shimmers into Xmas (21 December, 7pm & 9.15pm), Howard Samuels Andy Lucy Dixon: Christmas Live and Tripping (17 December, 7pm) and Clementine Christmas Special (19 December (7pm) & 20 December (7pm & 9.15pm).

New Year's Eve sees two very special New Year's Eve performances from Lenny Beige: New Year's Eve Special (31 December, 7pm) and The Black Cat Cabaret: New Year's Eve Special (31 December, 10pm).

The Autumn/Winter season which extends into January 2018 will include a three-week season of the London premiere of Dad's Army Radio Hour featuring double Fringe First Award Winner David Benson alongside Jack Lane, directed by Owen Lewis. Two actors play 25 characters in this brilliant staging of classic radio scripts based on favourite episodes from the classic BBC TV sitcom by Jimmy Perry and David Croft.
