Janice Messitte & Greg Kritikos Begin Open Run of BAGELS AND BAKLAVA this Friday

BAGELS & BAKLAVA & friends, the show that has been dubbed "The funniest Friday night comedy show in NYC!" will begin performances on July 14th at 8pm & every Friday Night through September. Starring JANICE MESSITTE & GREG KRITIKOS ("Greg the Greek"), BAGELS & BAKLAVA & friends will introduce you to some of the top comics from HBO, Comedy Central, "Letterman" & "The Tonight Show."

A comic, singer & actress who been doing Standup Comedy for 20 plus years, JANICE MESSITTE is a respected veteran of both the New York & LA comedy circuits. She has headlined at New York's Catch A Rising Star, Carolines, Gotham, Broadway Comedy Club & New York Comedy Club, plus the world famous Improv in both New York City & LA. Her television & film credits include a starring role in a sports reality pilot for ESPN & numerous guest appearances on the Letterman, Howard Stern, Conan O'Brlen, Jon Stewart & Montel Williams' shows, as well as Comedy Central. Her personal favorite "Letterman" episode is when she appeared opposite Chris Elliot in "Skink," a spoof of "Dawg, the BounTy Hunter," as Elliot's "wife" Beth. In 2oo3, Messitte was cast as a kind-hearted, yet somewhat overly assertive comedian in DC Benny's short feature Talent Pool & she can be seen in the film Back Seat where she plays a nasty, money-Hungry nightclub owner. Messitte is known for her comedic impressions of Barbra Streisand, Mae West, Cher, Fran Drescher & Joan Rivers. Also an accomplished vocalist, Messitte was nominated for a MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) Award in 2oo2, for her act, "Messitte, Scudder & Martin." She can occasionally be found singing in the piano bar at The Duplex in the West Village.

GREG KRITIKOS (aka "Greg the Greek) has taken the New York comedy scene by storm, headlining at Gotham, Carolines, Dangerfield's, New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club & the Greenwich Village Comedy Club. He has also been performing on the road in Delaware, Pittsburgh & Philadelphia & most recently in Spokane, Washington, at the Bing Crosby Theater.

In addition to stand-up, Greg's acting credits include "The Pleasure Principle," "City of Gold," "79 Parts," "The Right to Life," "Scriptless" (TV series), Witless Protection Program (animated), Vicki & Johhny & Night Job. Greg recently performed his one man show, People Are Suspect, to a sold out house at the Broadway Comedy Club.

Along with business partner Mike Rockwitz, Greg is one half of Legendary Entertainment NYC. Together, they have created a powerhouse company to showcase comedy, film & outrageous antics.

When they're not in residence at The Broadway Comedy Club in NYC, BAGELS & BAKLAVA, the creation of Messitte & Kritikos, can be seen performing the show around the country, most recently at The Bing Crosby Theatre in Spokane, Washington.
