Mad Cow Theatre's Teatro Español is delighted to announce its upcoming production of Alejandro Casona's Prohibido suicidarse en primavera (No Suicide in Springtime) presented in The Zehngebot-Stonerock Theatre September 28.

Presented in the original Spanish, Prohibido suicidarse en primavera tells the story of the Home for the Suicidal, a clinic seemingly created as a comfortable place to end one's life. However, the true purpose of the doctors' work may in fact allow the suicidal to find reasons to live, revealed when two reporters accidentally discover the clinic and transform the mindsets of the sick. At once comedic and dramatic, the central theme of hope weaves through each of the characters as they overcome the pains of their lives. Unlike previous readings of Spanish plays presented by Mad Cow Theatre's Teatro Español, Prohibido suicidarse en primavera is performed as a fully staged production.

Prohibido suicidarse en primavera is directed by Eliana Stratico ( Bodas de sangre, La casa de Bernarda Alba, and Yerma) and will feature Susi Rivera as DRA. Roda (La casa de Bernarda Alba, Bodas de sangre), Widalys Guzman Marquez as Alicia (La casa de Bernarda Alba), Ibis Enid Rodriguez as Chole (La casa de Bernarda Alba, and Yerma), Orlando Miguel as Fernando, Guillermo Suarez as Amante, Gregorio Sanchez as Juan, and Anahilda Garcia as Cora Yako (Bodas de sangre, Yerma) *Previous credits with Mad Cow in parentheses.
