Marcia Kimpton Wins Best Director Award At The 2018 La Femme Film Festival

Marcia Kimpton, writer, director, producer, and actress, won the award for Best Director for her movie "Bardo Blues."at the La Femme Film Festival, Sunday, October 14th, in Los Angeles.

Kimpton's film is set in Thailand and tells the story of a man coming to grips with tragedy by escaping to paradise. Weaving spiritual awakenings and soulful struggles, "Bardo Blues" will leave you questioning everything you think you know about who you are, where you came from and where you are going. The cast includes actors Stephen McClintic, Brian Gross, Gina Haining, Natalie Denise Sperl and Marcia Kimpton.

In addition to best director, "Bardo Blues" has also won best film award at the Amsterdam International Filmmaker Festival, the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards and Canada's Yes Let's Make a Film. It has also received awards for best cinematography, best editing, best lead actor, and Marcia received best actress award at LAIFF. "Bardo Blues" has also been a semi-finalist at the World of Film International Festival Glasgow and Best Film Festival.

"Bardo Blues" is being distributed in theaters across the US on May 3, 2019, by Freestyle Releasing.

Kimpton is now based in Aspen, Colorado after living in New York City and Los Angeles for many years. Marcia has produced and directed her own late night shows, TV pilots, and web series'.

Marcia's second short film, "My Reality," is a mockumentary about the Queen of Late night who loses her job only to find herself desperately looking for any job that will pay the bills. Even if it means doing THE ONE things she never wanted to consider: Reality TV. This film is currently being submitted to film festivals.
