The album, produced by Joe Chiccarelli and recorded at Studio La Fabrique in Southern France, features bandmates Jesse Tobias, Camila Grey, Carmen Vandenberg, Juan Galeano, Alain Whyte, Gustavo Manzur, and Brendan Buckley. Upon release, Make Up Is a Lie reached #3 on the UK Albums Chart, marking Morrissey's 16th Top 10 solo album. As co-founder and lead singer of The Smiths and a solo artist for over four decades, Morrissey is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in British pop music.
