RLTP to Open 2014-15 Season with DEATHTRAP

By:
Tuesday, August 12, 2014 - Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) has announced its first production in its 2014-2015 season, Deathtrap, by Ira Levin. The production will star David Oliver, Mike Seitz, Lisa Vitrano (RLTP Ensemble Member), Mary Jakiel, & Gerry Maher with direction under Scott Behrend.

"Deathtrap"...the title of the ingeniously plotted manuscript that playwright Sydney Bruhl receives, unsolicited, from a former student that Bruhl tells his wife he barely remembers. Bruhl-middle-aged, formerly successful for his own theatrical mysteries but waning in popularity, and dependent upon the finances of his fragile wife Myra, with whom he shares a chatty yet apparently sterile marriage-is so captivated by "Deathtrap" that he invites its author, Clifford Anderson, to Myra's remote cottage in the hopes of forging a collaborative partnership with Clifford.

Deathtrap is the legendary, marathon-running, smash-hit play by Ira Levin, creator of Rosemary's Baby and The Stepford Wives. Following its four-year, world-premiere engagement on Broadway, a 1982 film adaptation starring Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve, RLTP offers its own unique take on this offbeat comedy-thriller chestnut. Deathtrap is a multilayered whodunit, a sharp-tongued farce... and a real scream.

Deathtrap opens Friday, September 12th and runs through Sunday, October 12th at the Road Less Traveled Theater in the Market Arcade Film and Arts Centre. Please note: Only patrons of Road Less Traveled Theater will be permitted access into the Market Arcade Film & Arts Center during regular season performances and events.

Regular performance times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Tickets are $35 general admission and $17 for students. Student tickets for Try-It Talkback Thursday performances are only $5 (with ID). Groups of 10 or more may apply for group discounts. Tickets can be ordered online at www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org, by calling the RLTP Box Office at (716) 629-3069, or by visiting the Box Office during the 30 minutes prior to any performance. Reservations are suggested.
