THE NARROW LAND To Screen At Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater
The Narrow Land examines both the mythology and reality of Cape Cod.
Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater will screen The Narrow Land, a new film by Cape Cod filmmaker Jaiden van Bork on Friday May 22, 2026 at 7:00 pm and Saturday May 23, 2026 at 3:00 at the WHAT Julie Harris Stage, 2357 State Highway Route 6 in Wellfleet MA. A Question and Answer session with the filmmaker will follow the Friday screening.
The Narrow Land examines both the mythology and reality of Cape Cod, seeking to unravel the difficult questions that face the coastal community today as it confronts a barrage of over-tourism and a subsequent housing crisis that has left locals scrambling to keep their feet planted in the sand. Weaving a personal chronicle of childhood on Cape Cod with the voices of local artists, fishermen, and hospitality workers, the film channels the eerie realities of small-town America, posing new questions about identity and memory.
Jaiden Ramona van Bork (she/her) grew up on Cape Cod and will graduate from Brandeis University's Film, Television, and Interactive Media program in May of 2026. As a journalist, she has written for publications like Provincetown Magazine and Brookline News, in addition to a brief stint as editor-in-chief of The Truro Tent, a newspaper which she developed for Payomet Performing Arts Center. Her work in film routinely focuses on overlooked groups, forgotten places, and the making of myth in American culture.
Tickets for The Narrow Land are free, and can be reserved at what.org or by calling the box office at 508-349-9428.
