Lyric Stage to Present ON THE TOWN, 5/10-6/8

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston presents ON THE TOWN, May 10 - June 8, 2013, featuring Book & lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Music by Leonard Bernstein, Based on an idea of Jerome Robbins. Directed by Spiro Veloudos, the production will feature music direction by Jonathan Goldberg and choreography & musical staging by Ilyse Robbins.

Meet Chip, Ozzie, and Gabey - three American sailors with one day in New York City to see the sights, meet a special someone, and have the time of their lives. The light and humorous score of Leonard Bernstein (Candide, West Side Story) melds perfectly with the sharp and witty book by Betty Comden and Adolph Green (Singin' in the Rain, The Will Rogers Follies) to create an uplifting and exuberant musical experience including such memorable songs as "New York, New York" and "I Can Cook, Too."

The show runs May 10 - June 8, 2013, Wednesdays, Thursdays - 7:30pm; Wednesday matinees - 2pm, May 15 & June 5l Fridays - 8pm; Saturdays - 3pm & 8pm; and Sundays - 3pm. Post-show talkbacks: Sundays, May 12 & 26 after 3pm performance. P.S. - PostScript Post-Show: Sundays, May 12 & 26 after 3pm performance. Press opening: Sunday, May 12, 3pm. VIP opening: Wednesday, May 15, 7:30pm (post-show reception with cast and crew at Club Café - open to all ticket holders).
