BWW Review: AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS: Rogues on the Rails Photo BWW Review: AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS: Rogues on the Rails
by Nancy Grossman - Nov 26, 2019

Producing Artistic Director Emeritus Spiro Veloudos is in the director's chair for AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and stages Ken Ludwig's adaptation with distinct shadings of film noir and a who's who of Lyric Stage Company veterans (and a couple of newbies) on board to play the rogue's gallery of characters. If you already know whodunnit, the fresh take on telling the story will be worth the fare, and if you don't know who commits the dastardly deed, you're in for more than a few juicy surprises.

Wheelock Family Theatre opens its 34th season with ALICE, a musical reimagining of Lewis Carroll's classics, ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. WFT veteran Andrew Barbato wrote the adaptation and directs the production featuring a garden of flower buds played by children who may one day follow in his footsteps, as well as some perennials on local theater stages who deserve to have more than a few bouquets tossed their way. From seedlings to adolescents to full-grown, the vibrant members of this ensemble are all ready to embark on the journey with Alice, down the rabbit hole and wherever it may lead.

by Alex Lonati - Feb 11, 2014

Hairspray is not an unknown musical. With its long Broadway run, its original 1988 film, and the successful 2007 musical remake, not to mention the incredibly hummable soundtrack, Hairspray is arguably one of the most well known musicals in history. So going into the Wheelock Family Theatre's production this past weekend, I already had some expectations.
