Community Players Holds Auditions in Pawtucket

The Community Players will hold auditions for On Golden Pond on Monday, December 3 and Tuesday, December 4 at 7:00 pm at Jenks Auditorium, Division Street, Pawtucket, RI (across from McCoy Stadium).  

Director Peggy Pires is looking to fill the following roles:

Ethel:  age 70 or can portray age 70, spunky and energetic
Norman:  age 80's or can portray that age range
Chelsea:  early 40's
Bill:  age 40-45
Charlie:  age 40-45
Billy:  teen (approx. 15), blonde "California type"

The audition will consist of cold readings from the script.  Rehearsals will be held three nights a week (days to be determined).  The show will be produced at Jenks Auditorium on February 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10, 2008.

Additionally, The Community Players will hold auditions for the musical Chicago on Monday, December 10 and Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7:00 pm at Jenks Auditorium, Division Street, Pawtucket, RI

Director Greg Geer, Music Director Ron Procopio and Choreographer Marjorie Santos are looking to fill the following roles:

Roxie Hart: 20-35 (Mezzo/Alto), strong dancer
Velma Kelly: 20-35 (Alto), strong dancer  
Billy Flynn: 30-50 (Baritone), dancer
Amos Hart: 30-50 (Baritone), character role
Mama Morton: 40 up: (Low Alto)
Mary Sunshine: (Contra-Tenor)
MC: male, age unimportant
Ensemble:  6 Men and 6 women 18 and up, strong dancers

All roles are open.  

Those auditioning should bring sheet music and prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo song.  Accompanist provided.  Be prepared and dressed to dance.  For those interested in a lead role, the audition will also include cold readings from the script.  

The show will be produced at Jenks Auditorium on April 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 & 20, 2008.
