It looks like the enthusiasm for herb- and flower-flavored ice creams continues in NYC restaurants. Today I had a lunch where they served a walnut cake for dessert with lavender ice cream. The taste of lavender was not overwhelming; it was more like a creamy vanilla ice cream with a hint of lavender flavor. Very nice.
LizzieCurry, I had Bi-Rite yesterday. I had the salted caramel. It was a little too sweet but still really really good. My friend had the lavender honey. I tried some of hers and didn't care for it because it tasted just like the smell of the laundry detergent I use. I also tried the strawberry balsamic and didn't think there was enough balsamic in it.

Last year I saw a food show on tv that featured the Four Seas ice cream parlor in Centerville, Cape Cod, and it sounded like a place I would one day like to go. I finally got there, and I tried the fresh peach. I would say it fits the title of this thread perfectly. It was exceptional.
