What ever happened to her?.....I heard she was great as the standby Elphaba...and if I remember correctly she was the stand by for a while...and I'm surprised with all of Wicked's recycling they haven't brought her back

She was in HAIR at the Public; I don't think they've announced the official cast for Broadway yet, but I would think there's a good chance of her transferring. Updated On: 11/13/08 at 05:55 PM
Yeah I saw some videos of Saycon on "the site that we shall not speak of" and she sounds pretty much amahzing, her vocals are crazy!! IMO, next to Kerry and Shoshana, she's got the best "...look to the western sky" and "renown" of all the Elphies...if that makes any sense whatsoever.
Like you said with their recycling I for sure would've brought Saycon back!!! She's that freakin' good!!!

I dont think she was ever in the Color Purple on Broadway- she was in the workshop but was replaced with Renee Goldsberry.
I think she was standby in Wicked for more than a year, and probably got tired of being passed over for the lead again and again. She was in the HAIR ensemble and will likely transfer in February.
I liked her Mimi in RENT and loved her AIDA. Her vocals in Wicked are insane so hopefully there are bigger things ahead.
They have amazing actresses that they never promote.

Don't go there, Wishing...you'll only make me angry about that again, especially after seeing the incredibly dull, and sub-par Marcie Dodd in the role.
Her vocals were decent, but, she couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag; it was really frustrating, actually.
Fair enough. The girl has a powerful voice, and is just beautiful. But her acting always leaves something to be desired; she brings nothing new to the table, and I couldn't tell ya anything specific about her generic character choices for Elphaba, Aida, and Mimi. They were bland.
A decent voice does not always a good musical theatre actor make; just look at Shoshana Bean (sorry). I'm a fan of her vocals, definitely, just not of her acting "style."
I have to agree. Saycon is an excellent vocalist but her acting leaves you wanting more. I disagree however with Shoshana Bean though: she's a gifted vocalist as well as actress. Then again, everyone has their opinion.

I don't know what you were watching that night...LOL. Marcie was incredible but Alli on the other hand ummmm....
Don't believe everything that you hear! Only the peeps involved know the truth!
You don't often hear about offers tht are turned down...it isn't news.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I could be completely making this up but I think she was asked and left to promote her CD.
