What non-new shows AREN'T closing so far? Wicked, Phantom, Mammia Mia and Jersey Boys? Forget the banks, if that's our future, the government should bailout Broadway.

It had a great run. The show was fun, but I'm honestly glad to see it go.
The fact that the Shubert will be available again is very exciting.
HAIR is a terrific prospect for the Shubert, but I wonder if the BLITHE SPIRIT producers are already hovering.

I just bought tickets to see Clay Aiken in Spamalot before it closes! I'm sorry to see this show go.

Posted: 10/17/08 at 11:57pmYeah, my parents didn't like Clay Aiken before he came out. They're not bigots or anything, they just don't like him, simple and clean. I've seen the show twice and generally loved it both times (without Clay) but I'm not a fan of him either. Myself nor my parents are willing to shell out the price of a good ticket to see a performer they don't particularly like. People are allowed to be picky about what they spend their money on, aren't they?

Aw man, just like Xanadu, I'm gonna be sad to see this one go but with the classes I'm taking, they are making a good move because it hasn't been doing well, even with his not royal highness! They've been having about 55% attendance...

I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. i still say they'll be some empty theaters next spring.

Neil Simon - Hair(rumored)
Walter Kerr - Nerds(rumored)
plus, if 13, A Tale of Two Cities & Spring Awakening close by the end of the year as well as Gypsy closing once Lupone leaves, it'll leave the following theaters available. The Shubert, St. James, Schoenfeld, Jacobs, Al Hirshfeld, Booth & Eugene O'Neil.
I can see Blithe Spirit in the Al Hirshfeld; reasons to be pretty in the Schoenfeld; The Story of My Life in the Booth; & Impressionism in the Jacobs. Leaving The Shubert, St. James & Eugene O'Neil available. I don't see any shows coming up that could come close to filling those huge theaters.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

You do realize that 70% isn't good either, right? Despite what you're trying to convince yourself to believe, Clay's presence doesn't make any positive difference in sales. This is the first week attendance has been over 60% since he returned. It's more likely that attendance will go UP with him gone all weekend.

Variety disagrees with you. I'll go with their opinion over yours. He's only been back a couple of weeks so the bump to 70% is a good sign.

It IS possibile to hate someone because they just hate him. It may have nothing to do with the fact he's gay. Stop assuming everyone but the homophobic love him!
