Wait, maybe she is the surprise LEGALLY BROWN winner... it'd all make sense, that's why she went to see IN THE HEIGHTS.

Either way, I doubt there's any true to the rumor, but really the only role I can see her playing on Broadway right now is Roxie Hart... it'd actually be poetic.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Why not give her a shot. Her voice isn't bad, it is better than some people who have lead roles now. Give her a shot, if she screws up, wellllll then that's bad news bears for her.

Who are these people in lead roles that Britney is better than? I'd like to hear some names.

I always though that this was the bit of stunt-casting that Xanadu was trying to get, so they could stay open.

There are several roles she could probably play right now- Roxie and Sandy immediately come to mind. She could also replace Christy Carlson Romano in Avenue Q.

I wonder if the LB producers ever tried to seek her out, before she went off the deep end.

Hasn't there been talk of her coming to Broadway since Sweet Charity? Honestly, I was doubtful of Katie Holmes, and despite some opinions on her, I enjoyed her and she surprised me. So I am interested to see which show she decides to choose, maybe shes the next Lily Garland!

barcelona20, Jennifer Garner & Katie Holmes. There's also Annaliese Van Der Pol, she was on TV for 6 years.

I would actually really like to see how she would do on Broadway.

Jennifer Garner actually made a most impressive (and entirely under the radar) debut (if you can call it her debut) in CYRANO.

Garner and Holmes are far more talented than Britney Spears.

But I was responding to the comment that Britney has a better voice than some people in lead roles on Broadway at the moment. I asked who these people might be.

It's the natural thing to happen. Roxie is a bit too obvious. I really doubt she could do it, but the idea of her in Avenue Q is a bit interesting. It would throw the whole show off, though. The draw should be cursing, horny puppets, not tabloid queens. My best bet is that the Sandy deal will eventually come through.

So you're saying Britney has a better voice than two actresses who are not actually even in musicals?

"So you're saying Britney has a very voice than two actresses who are not actually even in musicals?"

I'm sorry, this is my fault. After over 2 and a half years on this board, I'm still not fluent in ASPL (American Sock-Puppet Language). Therefore I am forced to ask: What is "a very voice"?

I have no idea who that poster was talking about Rotel, but Britney Spears has a far better voice than the original Roxie Hart in this revival. Reinking's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

Just the thought of her portraying Lily Garland makes me scream.

I've got it...Britney as Velma and Miley Cyrus as Roxie.

If Britney were come to Broadway I think it would have to be in a less demanding role than Roxie Hart. I really doubt she has the stamina to do 8 shows a week in a very physical role. I see pictures of her and wonder how she even managed to get out of bed let alone actually be walking.

I understand that she wants to make a comeback and don't wish any ill will on her. But if she is going to come to Broadway I think it'll have to be a play or a musical role that doesn't call for much physicality.

And as for the Sandy thing...I just don't buy her as Sandy. Marty or Rizzo - sure. Not Sandy. I don't think anyone will buy her in the role.

This has been a rumor for literally years.

Britney is not coming to Broadway. She is in the middle of a HUGE comeback. Broadway is not where she is at right now. Maybe in a couple of years after she has made a successful comeback.

I can't see her playing Roxie. She'd have to sing and dance at the same time and we know that she can't do that from having to lip sync for her tours.

Broadwaybound is high. Britney a better voice than Bailey? You think Britney can hit those notes? What planet are you on? And I like how you go from some people to one person. And that's not even true.

i don't think Roxie is too demanding or out of her range. And i'm sure Fran and Barry would be happy to have her even for a 10 week run. Yep, she's in the middle of a comeback and appearing on broadway would bring in tons of publicity. And, if she shaves her head again, it might just be time to revive WIT.
