I read an interview with Angie that was conducted in the fall of 2007. At the end of the piece she's asked about returning to the stage. She said she didn't want to anchor a production but would be interested in doing a Stritch/Arthur-esque one woman show or playing a supporting role (she mentioned Madame Armfelfdt in "A Little Night Music").
During DEUCE, she said that it would be her final full-time engagement on Broadway.

She'd probably do a small role in something, if only to wash out the taste of that vile DEUCE thing.

IMO, Madame Arcati in the play Blithe Spirit would be a nice fit for Angela at this point. The character does not have to carry the show, although a good actress can steal it. Remembering how great she was playing a ditz in Death on the Nile, I'd really like to see her consider it.
Madame Armfeldt: Angela Lansbury Desiree: Meryl Streep Frederick: Jeremy Irons Anne: Anne Hathaway Henrik: John Lloyd Young Charlotte: Christine Baranski Count Malcolm: Brian Stokes Mitchell
i would be first in line for tickets if that cast ever did come into fluition.

I saw Angela in Deuces last year. But it was a very stationary show as you all know about performers watching a tennis match. We had just had a big dinner, and to tell you the truth, we were all nodding off. She is excellent but quite up there in years.
