Everafter is on ABC Family right now, and I just remembered that there were plans for this to make it to Broadway, but I haven't heard anything about it in quite some time. Whatever happen to this project?

Btw, the score in the movie is gorgeous.

I think this could be good as long as Celia K-B isn't in it.

The movies that are made into musicals aren't exactly Schindler's List.

Well, 'Shrek' was terrifically well-received back when it was fresh and new and not at all like flogging a dead horse donkey. ^_^ I'm sure people must've said nice things at the time about 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Lion King', and 'Beauty And The Beast' too.

Oh, you're talking more the 'Wedding Singer' and 'Hairspray' type, aren't you? XD

it's a simple story to be told through songs and of course the costumes and scenics are perfect for a musical, but personally i don't really like period pieces. it bores the hell out of me.

The movie got really good reviews, mostly for its cast and story, with the fact that a fairy tale was retold in the sense that the story actually happened. I personally think Ever After was Drew Barrymore's best work. Her character (Danielle) is a very strong heroine.

I have faith that the musical will do well. It has lots of potential. It's a lovely story with lots of heart and sincerity. My only worry is that some things might have to be changed for the transition to the stage. For example, in the movie Auguste (Danielle's father) dies of a heart attack when he is on his horse, then 10 years later, Prince Henry steals the same horse and that's how Danielle meets him.

LOL, Weez!

I really love this movie. I don't think the fact that it only got "avarage reviews" has anything to do with the future success of the musical. I hope it does well.

Entirely OT, but I can't even see/hear/speak the words "Ever After" without following it up with "Journey's over, all is mended, and it's not just for today" then I pick up with "all the curses have been ended, the reverses wiped away, all is tenderness and laughter for forever after" (or something like that...I have no idea if I've even got the context right or the words in the right order, but that the way it plays in my head.)

Then the song gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day...

um... thank you.
