Hello!
I'm involved in a production of Seussical at my school in the UK next spring, and we need a set of band parts as so the orchestra can rehearse properly - Josef Weinberger won't release them until a month beforehand unless we want to pay some extortionate amount per week to have them for longer. Does anybody know where I could find a set, either digitally or in a library or something?

A digital copy is illegal. If a library has it, it's illegal.
If this stuff was available for free, there would be even MORE illegal productions.
You pay your royalties, rental and deposit, and THEN they send you your music.
That's the way the business works. Deal with it.
Your orchestra needs MORE than a month of rehearsal?

Even if your orchestra needed more than a month (and here in the US most give you the music the same amount of time as the scripts...and you get two months.) Why would you be worrying about this NOW???? That's nine months away.
And yes, what you are asking for is INCREDIBLY illegal.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.
