I know broadway musicals don't have PG ratings, but i'm curious as to the content.

I would like to take my family to the show, and they do not enjoy shows with mature themes or mature content.

I understand that this show has a mature plot line in the sense that it is complex and difficult for children to understand, but I was wondering if there would be any subject matter that would make my parents and grandparents uncomfortable.

Thanks!

Some questions might arise about where babies come from but nothing that would warrant a PG-13 rating if it were a movie.

lol it'd be my parents i'm taking. and my grandparents. Mature people who just feel insanely awkward in mature themed shows.

Not that I agree with them, but its not worth their time if they don't enjoy it so i wanna make sure.

Honestly there is nothing bad in its content, however if your family doesn't go for mature plot lines and such; I would not recommend this show! I loved this show, but I know many people who find it boring and slow, admittedly there are parts I found rather "slow."

If your family likes fun shows and you still want to see something intelligent I would highly recommend Gypsy or South Pacific.

mmm, Mary Poppins? That's probably the only option you have. The main character in SITPWG gets pregnant and she's not married! *gasp*

As long as she doesn't have a problem with a poodle doing a piddle she'll be fine.

Maybe if Idina was in it she'd like it.

I felt like in this revival Dot is commenting on George's actual size/stature.
Maybe I'm thinking that because Daniel Evans is just so freaking cute. He's 5'8' but just seems tiny re: Is Sunday in the Park With George a 'PG' rated show?

After I saw it once, I took my children to see it. They're 6 and 12. They both loved it.

Blaxx suggested Mary Poppins, but there's as much sexual tension between Mary and Bert as there is between Dot and Georges. Not to mention Mr. and Mrs. Banks.

Just tell your parents that Dot is saying "I like your SIGHS, George." Tell them he's always sighing 'cause he just can't finish the goddam hat.

I always thought that too, Tag. At least with Bernadette.

But when Jenna sings it, it does imply a little more. The audience giggled at the lyric when I saw it.

Exactly. In Bernadette's delivery, it's pretty clear that she's talking about his physical size.

In the revival, well, she loves George's cock.

OR, you can tell your parents she does say, "size," but that she's referring to his enormous canvas!

B for Bravo is more like it.

Truly the most stunning, gorgeous production of a musical I've ever witnessed. This cast, direction - everything! - simply remarkable.

A slight PG-13, due to sexual innuendo, and you can thank Bernadette Peters for that:

JAMES LAPINE: Bernadette, I'd like to do a scene where an old woman costume opens and you come out naked, like a butterfly.

BERNADETTE PETERS: I don't do nude.
