Broadway actress, Laura Benanti, currently starring as Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy, will be unable to perform during this week's Tuesday – Thursday’s shows under her doctor's instructions. Benanti has been diagnosed with walking pneumonia, but her doctor is optimistic that she will be able to return to the production by this Friday.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

I hope she does feel better soon. She was my favorite part of the entire production.
And, I am glad that this isn't yet another thread about a Benanti absence that got turned into " she is faking it she gets sick all the time" thread.

When I had walking pneumonia it took nearly two weeks to recover once it had been diagnosed. Of course the earlier it's diagnosed, the shorter the recovery time.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
aw Laura I hope you are feeling better! i'm gonna be at the show next Wednesday so hopefully she'll be back, but I wish her the best. My friend who is the lead in the show we are in has the same thing and he's in the hospital
Laura Benanti is an AMAZING performer. Truly transcendent.
But she needs to show up.
And she doesn't.
It's a pattern with her, and I suspect it has something to do with her father, Martin Vidnovic, who has a horrible reputation with showing up as well. It seems like he taught her it's okay to miss performances.
