How about the Angel in "Angels in America" what a way to do it, just break through the roof.
The second act opener of "Dreamgirls", Deena comes down from above (maybe a theme here).

Dolly (in the opening number as well as the Harmonia Gardens).

Young Joe in Damn Yankees.

Catherine in Pippin (the actress' "missed" cue)

Brad and Janet in the revival Rocky Horror- stepping out of the movie screen.

A Chorus Line - for one night only, at the special version, when the show broke the record for the longest run (at that point). The show started with the then current cast, but after all the beginning cuts, when the cast came down to the line with their pictures in front of their faces- they were lowered to reveal they had been replaced by the original cast.

I already posted my opinion on this, but actually, I was just thinking...I really like Elphaba's in Wicked. I like how it contrasts so much with Glinda's big bubble entrance. It's so simple comared to Glinda yet just the expression on her face and the way she runs tells you so much about the character.
