Did anyone see Ralph Macchio in How To Succeed....? How was he?

Is there a audio recording of it somewhere?

I saw it. We kind of laughed at the idea of him being in this production, but he did fine. I remember being really impressed and realized I should not have prejudged him the way I did.

I'm sure there is an audio "somewhere" but not anywhere official or legal.

Waay back in 1996 in Tempe, AZ. He was decent. He understood the character and that counts for a lot in my book. Personally, I was more excited to see Roger Bart as Bud Frump and Pam Blair (the original Val from A Chorus Line) as Miss LaRue. I'm not aware of any recordings.

Thanks...I just wanted to see if he could sing well?

I saw him in SF, he was OK. You couldn't really say he was a singer, but at best could "carry a tune".

He was OK (if I can remember back that far). Nothing special, as he didn't really stand out, but the whole production seemed to work really well.

I caught the tour in Cleveland. He looked twelve.

He was boring and didn't rise above a good high school level performance.

Please tell me he played the "wax on, wax off" game with Mr. Bigley's desk.

That was my third big show--I won the tickets from a newspaper contest where I had to find a bizarre item at a garage sale listed in the paper. I remember enjoying the show tremendously, though I don't think I knew enough at the time to comment on Macchio's abilities (I was probably 18 or 19).
