I'm wondering if anyone might have any clue as to whether Megan Mullally and/or Supreme Music Program might be considering doing any type of small concerts or cabarets while she's here in Young Frankenstein?
My understanding is that she's pretty active with it all in LA, and I'm HOPING that she finds the time and resources to showcase it out here. Updated On: 1/10/08 at 05:06 PM
I. Love. You. For asking this question. I wish I knew!
I did ask Megan at the stage door if The Sweetheart Break-In was ever going to be re-released so I could "obtain it legally". She said there were no plans to and it was unlikely but thanked me for wanting to buy it and asked if I had someone burn me a copy. I told her I had to find someone online (on BWW, but I didn't say that) who would send me the files. She said, "Just as long as people are hearing the music".

I saw her do a show in LA and it is something not to miss. Her range alone is amazing. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.

That's really sad about THE SWEETHEART BREAK-IN, I think that is her best album to date. She needs to go back to recording Sondheim again.

I would have loved to see her go on as Rizzo in the GREASE revival. She says she was bad, but I bet she was amazing.

Even if she was awful (which I doubt), I'll bet she was better than Rosie.

It is wonderful to hear her say that she'd do theater exclusively for the rest of her career.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
I'm sure she will do a few movies or TV guest spots if something great is offered to her. But it sounds like she will actively be looking at theatre projects too. Her and her W&G cast mates are set for life money wise with all the syndication. They can pretty much do whatever they want from now on. Updated On: 1/24/08 at 09:39 AM
Well said. This woman seriously needs to be singing. I hope she gets a Tony Nomination for YF, but it's a tougher slot now with all three YF women in the Featured category. But if she doesn't get a nod, I hope that doesn't discourage her from sticking with theatre.

Well, Mullally has yet to be recognized with Tony love, but her fans truly appreciate her work and she certainly seems to adore live theater, so I think (and hope) that is enough for her to stick around the theater scene in New York. I love her singing voice and performing style, really look forward to seeing more of her on Broadway.
