Some days you just don't wanna....#1

This made me laugh.

Some days you just don't want to go...

MONTERREY, Mexico (AFP) - A 10-year-old Mexican boy glued his hand to his bed to avoid going back to school after the Christmas break, authorities said Monday.

"I thought if I was glued to the bed, they couldn't make me go to school," the boy, Diego, told AFP. "I didn't want to go, the holidays were so much fun."

"I remembered my mom had bought a very strong glue," he said of the industrial strength shoe glue he used to stick his hand to the bed's metal headboard, where he stayed stuck for two hours.

His mother Sandra Palacios was unable to free him and called paramedics and police to help. Diego watched cartoons while they worked to unglue him, eventually using a spray to dissolve the chemical adhesive.

"I don't know why this happened. He is a very good boy," said his mother.

Diego eventually made it school a few hours late.
"Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. . ."

File this under "Kids: Don't Try This at Home."

Hmmm...

On second thought...where'd I put that Krazy Glue?

re: Some days you just don't wanna.... Sometimes people just don't realize how much some little guys really hate school. God bless him - I hope that energetic brain of his gets pointed in a better direction!

I don't know, Mamie. He watched cartoons while they unglued him. He didn't read War and Peace.

I still maintain the imagination and will is there - it just needs some guidance to get him to train it on something constructive.

While he was semi-immobile, who turned on the cartoons? Probably the same one who DIDN'T put a book in front of him.

Ha! That solution would have never occurred to me as a child.

Maybe he should go to a different school? When I was in kindergarten, the school wouldn't put me in the gifted class because it was already full, so I got stuck in a class where I finished everything faster than the other kids and my teacher hated that. She actually made a point of pointing out things I did wrong - she would give me the plastic scissors and complain that I didn't cut all the way through the paper properly. She even called me "Allen" instead of Ellen...a few years later, my mom found out that HER middle name was Ellen! I hated kindergarten.

I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

And Starbucks will use the words 'large' and 'small', not pretentious crap like grande and tall.
