Hey, I posted this earlier, but it was deleted because it was a response to the "Yo, Check Out This Fierce 'Obscenity'" Thread lol... but Natalie Weiss of youtube semi-stardom (http://youtube.com/watch?v=uedIMUuosnw ) will be replacing Carly Jibson in the Scott Alan concert on Monday, singing "Say Goodbye." Hopefully this will really get her out there!
that makes me so happy. that girl is something else. she's gonna sing the crap outta that music. at first I thought she was a one trick wonder with her crazy good riffing but she has so much control and technique and ability to just sing a song without all those tricks too. have you seen this ridiculous video? http://youtube.com/watch?v=_PaVm4i8mOEUpdated On: 1/6/08 at 05:19 PM
Yeah, she's incredible! She was on "American Idol" a few years ago, and was the only one in her trio in Hollywood to not make it through to the final 44. I think this will be great for her, though! Check out this girl too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEGiYnPp31Y
Ann Harada, most recently seen on the New York stage in the revival of Les Misérables, will host the Jan. 21 Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Natalie's performing tomorrow night at Monday Nights, New Voices.
"The 7 PM performance kicks off the fourth season of the acclaimed series, which was founded by composer Scott Alan to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York." This season, the concerts will also celebrate new composers and lyricists.
The Jan. 21 concert will spotlight the talents of up-n-coming composer-lyricist Jonathan Reid Gealt. Singers will include Garrit Guadan, Megan Loomis, Jesse Kissel, Natalie Weiss and David Weitzer; Barbara Anselmi will be the evening's musical director." www.playbill.com
Yeah, I did see that- actually, in 2005, Natalie did make it to Hollywood, but was the only member of her group of three to not make it to the final 44. She was pretty featured on TV- her group was her and two girls whose moms were over-involved with the rehearsal process, ad Natalie asked them to leave, resulting in a high drama episode. This year, Natalie auditioned again, and strangely, was cut after her first audition for the judges. You could see her for a second on the first episode in Philadelphia this season.
I wasn't familiar with her until Scott Alan's CD release party when she took over for Eden. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, she is able to step up to the plate at a moment's notice which is what I believe separates those who CAN from those who WILL. I look forward to seeing her career grow. Updated On: 1/22/08 at 03:10 PM
So my friend was laughing at me the other day because I am getting obsessed. I watch her videos on youtube so much, I just love her voice. So talented. We need to get married and record duets.
That video of the two of them is SO cute! I love how Natalie is getting so well known! I look forward to her website in a couple of weeks! www.natalieweiss.net--coming soon!
"Everytime you step on that stage it is somebody's first Broadway show and somebody's last Broadway show. Make it count."
