To T-Strap or Not to T-Strap (character shoes)

Getting new Laducas.... T-Strap or no? What are people mainly using now? (I know its about what I prefer, im just curious!)

The picture is what the T-strap shoes look like... otherwise there is just a single strap across the ankle...

I was going to recommend this until I looked up LaDucas.

I know nothing about character shoes...but I would say NO T-strap. I think the single band is more versatile and generally looks better.

My personal preference is T-Strap. I feel it's more support.

When I did my last show (about 9 months ago), MOST people had the T-Strap or the Broadway Flex. I just don't think there is enough support on the side with the Broadway flex.

Yes T-strap. They provide better support and a better line when your foot is pointed.

T-Strap without a doubt. It is a more flattering line and it does offer more support.

AP! How are you, lovely? For what it's worth, I have the single strap, and while they're very comfortable and seem supportive enough, I always envy those with T-Strap. They just look better.

I always get T-strap. They're more flattering, and they do offer more support, imho. re: To T-Strap or Not to T-Strap (Although I get Capezios...LoDucas just don't fit me well.)

BTW - I started ballet lessons in 1968 and have called them "Ballet Mistress" shoes all my life. :)

I am planning on getting new character shoes, and am definitely investing in a good pair. I was also planning on getting t-strap, just because I think they look better.

Also, is black or tan more versatile? Eventually, I want really good pairs of both, but which is better to get first?

You might get more info and ideas if you post this on the student board. I know there's a lot of theatre people there who will know the answer to your question.
