I feel bad, because I'm just about the biggest Colbert fan there is, but I don't want him to take this too far.

If he takes it far enough, we ALL win! After all, he is America, so why shouldn't he BE America?

I'm just kind of glad I didn't get any Stewart/Colbert 08 attire, otherwise I'd have to update them.

From what I could gather while half listening last night, he's running only in South Carolina as a "favored son".

Yeah, it's all a bit confusing...
But hey I'd vote for him!

He said he was also running as both a Republican and a Democrat. That's a huge risk - he could lose twice!

Chances are, he'll "respectfully drop-out" after South Carolina. But you never know...

How embarrassing would it be for the real canidates if he won both parties? (And knowing Colbert Nation, that's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.)

Colbert owns the world, we're all just livin' in it!!!

As long as it doesn't all turn into a bad film like "Man of the Year" .... then we'll all be good.

Is it bad that, if I had to vote today, I'd vote for him? Well, as long as he made Oprah his vice president, that is.

i think someone should organize a write-in campaign for him. "youth of america for colbert" and all. i bet he could totally mobilize that vast, untapped, apathetic mass of voters too drunk or stoned to manage to make it to the polls: students. at the very least he could do well enough in some online polls and force skittish democrats to run some anonymous attack ads against him.

"and force skittish democrats to run some anonymous attack ads against him"

Only if they decide to do what the Republicans have become masters of. The problem with the Democrats is that they haven't learned how to fight dirty like the Republicans have. They need to learn to give as good as they get.

please, marc, whose campaign leaked the o-bama-lama-ding-dong madrassa story? i'll give ya a hint, it's the same person who has enough dirt on gore to keep him out of the race. do you really think he's not because he feels he can accomplish more outside the white house? what about obama's supposedly non-involvement in the hillary 1984 youtube ad? anonymity in attacks. now the breck girl, he just has his wife come out between bouts of chemo and rail against his competitors while he's off boning the coulter-like blonde he loves so doggone much.

yeah, there's no negativity on that side of the aisle at all.
