Im giong to NY with my dad. And my grandparents might take my dad and I(or just me) to see a broadway show. I was thinking of seeing Hairspray, though I just saw the tour show. I Was also thinking of seeing Legally Blonde. Any other recommendations?

Try Young Frankenstein or Spelling Bee!

With Dad and Grandma and Grandpa along, I personally would skip Spring Awakening. (Ok, I'd skip it anyway...but I can't imagine sitting through it with parents or even grandparents even if I loved it.)

Since Legally Blonde is going to be on MTV in just over half an hour, give it a look to see if it's something you'd want to sit through or you think your father and grandparents would like.

Personally, I LOVED Curtains and I think there's a little something in there for everyone. That would be my top recommendation as my usual favorite (The Drowsy Chaperone) is dead to me after the 19th because of Bob Saget. re: So...Im going to NY during spring break...

If you just saw Hairspray on tour, I would suggest seeing something else on Broadway. I would suggest Spelling Bee, Drowsy Chaperone or Spring Awakening. As far as Spring Awakening goes, if the grandparents are going, let them know what it is about. Some say skip it if older people are going. But not all grandparents are alike and yours may like it. I say if your dad and your grandparents are coming along, JERSEY BOYS, CURTAINS, and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN would all be great options. I've seen 2 of those 3 shows, loved them both, and I'm sure YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN will be great when I see it in a few weeks.
Other than that, THE COLOR PURPLE is good, don't know if you want to see it for Fantasia or not, but she leaves in January.

But my overall reccomendation would be JERSEY BOYS. :)

Drowsy won't be open during Spring Break unless it moves theatre. I would reccomend Cry Baby. You and your grandpa and your dad will all LOVE it.

Sunday in the Park with George will most likely be the best thing on Broadway at that time.

Drowsy if it's still open
If not, In the Heights.

I would suggest Les Miserables if its still open, it is a little different than what is was before, or Phantom of the Opera...who knows how long these shows will last!

For current shows, I recommend Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Curtains (if they're still open by then, that is).

Sunday in the Park with George, South Pacific, and In the Heights are supposed to be good and will be on Broadway by spring break.

It's SO hard to say for sure when there are Grandparents along... but I might suggest Mamma Mia! It pleases almost everyone. If you want to "tease" them a little (though it's not VULGAR in most people's eyes) I'd say go for RENT!!!
If you've never SEEN it - I ALWAYS say go for RENT! If they're not THAT old, they'll probably get "into it," AND - understand why YOU might be! Bottom line - if you want to express YOUR generation's feelings on any NUMBER of topics - you can do it by taking them to see RENT. They'll laugh and fall in LOVE with the cast, while realising that YOU brought them to this "new" understanding of how the world is a LITTLE bit different than it was when they were young - but it's truly all the same ball of wax. Only YOU know for sure whether they can "handle" it. If they're WAY conservative... then RENT might be out of the question.... BUT if you want them to see how YOU think - and they might "go along" with it - there's nothing like a good viewing of RENT to say:
THESE ARE MY VIEWS -
I'M YOUNG - I'M ALIVE
That's what's kept RENT on Broadway for over 12 years -
It's still young - and VERY ALIVE!

Well, my grandparents probably saw almost all of the shows that were being talked about. I dont think they saw Rent though. I was also thinking about seeing Rent. Though I wanted to see it before Oct.7.

A Chorus Line. Even if the cast sucks, it's still good!
