Uh-huh. Do you actually have any links or anything to back this up, or do you just enjoy repeating yourself? re: LB to come to London!

Where did u hear this? They arnt even sure its gonna last in NY at the moment, yes its doing well i know. Its a bit new at the moment. Do the English public know who Ns Bundy is? I dont think it'll come to London-a little bit too ameerican as i said and all that legal stuff will have to be changed to English law wont it?
Ive never seen the movie, is it OK? Updated On: 7/2/07 at 02:14 PM

This happens to be a great show and would play well here as we like our fun musicals(is it hell to american , the film was huge here)

Its grosses dipped this week wicked 63 as did many other broadway shows(it was a slow week) the last few weeks LB grosses pushed to $1 million dollars in ONE WEEK , not many shows achieve that, its gross will be back to normal next week

I'm interested in this. It sounded like a bad idea but lots of people in the USA like it so why shouldn't it come here.

Having seen it in NY, I think Bridget Jones the Musical would stand more of a chance in the West End..

Why, hello Margaret! Yes darling, half past five. Well, everyone, simply le tout Park Avenue and la creme de Hyannis! Well, the press table's going to be awfully crowded... but if you don't mind sharing a folding chair with Harper's Bazaar... Sing? Me? Heavens no, it's Edie's day, not mine... Although people can be so insistent, and I hate to disappoint. Twist my arm, blackmail me, threaten my very life, and who knows? You might get a verse of something...

I think it will be some time away before they consider going to London, they still have to wait to see how the show does after the summer months, usually they think about a national tour first.

Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).

"Having seen it in NY, I think Bridget Jones the Musical would stand more of a chance in the West End.."

It makes me laugh that when it comes to AMERICAN musicals people somehow think that they wouldn't run in the west end ?? Its not like America is the most challenging culture to understand. The film was also a HUGE success here so that would give it a great chance in London as well as the fact that this is a good fun night out kind of show and the UK is a lot more accepting of "fluff" musicals than America is.

Fame, Footloose, Saturday Night Fever etc etc have all done much better here in the UK than they did in the States (Fame never even got to Broadway just Off Broadway but is now in its 11th year here).

It's not a question of whether American culture is too challenging to understand, I just don't think people realise exactly how seeped in American culture we are. I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again now; we've had American music, books, TV shows, films, even plays and musicals coming to the UK for a BLOODY long time now. We know what Harvard is. 'Legally Blonde' is NOT too American.

Working in the theatre i know that this could be huge but when i say too American, we have to think of the 'general public' and some shows would be harder to sell. I for one would not be surprised to see LB here within 12-15 months. Its a great looking and sounding show and would look great at Drury Lane after the hobbits have returned to middle earth. And yes American tv etc has been here since tv began we know that and we know it doesnt always cross over.

If Fame and Saturday Night Fever can find an audience here so can the far superior Legally Blonde

It can be possible for an American show to be too american. And, just becase yoou watch American TV doesn't mean that you know all about life in America. I not think that the show will go to London. i do know however that there had been a huge group of people who assumed the show was going to be amazing before any out of town try out happened. An d before there was any promo media. These were also the peple that when hearing the news of High Fidelity's closing they talked about how they wouldn't have anything tto see on broadway till legally blonde comes in the spring. I mean I do think that a lot of its ticket sales are form people who are young and thgought the show would be good prior to knowing anything about it.

Personaly I find it interesting that there were people who wedre looking foward to seein ghis show propr to knowing anything about it. I mean most people would wait to hear an opinion of someone they know who saw the show or a review or online clips.
