Despite his name, legallyblondethemusical isn't exactly a reliable source. He's a guy in San Francisco who jumps on the bandwagon of these shows when they play his town, creating fan sites, etc. I've always heard that critics do indeed go prior to opening night and the reviews don't come out immediately simply because it's not that urgent. But they definitely don't all come out the same day. Instead, they trickle in.

Reliable source for what? I'm not claiming to be an expert on anything here all I'm saying is what I know about when critics see shows here in SF. Ask any critic what night they are seeing Legally Blonde for the first time, I guarantee it is Tuesday, Feb 6th. I don't jump on any bandwagons I just see shows when they come to my city and share my opinions just like anyone else, what about that is so wrong? I am not here promoting anything or talking about fan sites. I am just trying to start a good discussion about this musical in previews and what can be done to make it better. You should see my PM box, I have been nothing but nice to anyone who has asked (including neddyfrank2 BTW) and tried my best to be an honest source of info, I have nothing to be ashamed of.

Critic #1: Hey what did you put down for Act I?
Crtitc #2: A, B, B, A, D
Critic #1: Ok, thanks I owe you one.
Critic #2: Anytime, good thing we came on the same night, makes my job much easier.

Can we get back to talking about the show now?

I WENT with my friend who is a critic to a preview of LESTAT and WICKED and I know he when he went to A Chorus Line.

And they don't want them sharing opinions. If one critic loved a show and another one didn't and they began talking, the second critic could point out all the faults in the show, which would result in the first critic changing his/her opinion.

This is just silly, I wanted to keep this thread civil. I apologize to anyone I offended by saying that critics will see Legally Blonde on Tuesday, Feb. 6th. I hope we can put this drama behind us. :)

I would love to get back to talking about the show. neddyfrank2 you sent me a PM and asked me to describe the sets and I am working on a write up of that and I will post it soon. Hopefully some new opinions get posted tonight. I'm going again on Tuesday night and hoping to see some changes.

Brian, I think you are doing a fine job since I sit so far away and will not see LB(legally blond or laura bundy) and cast, until NY. thank you for all you do. I would say that you have seen this sort of thing before...if there is someone or something people can jump on they will... tried and true....they just cannot leave it alone.
Thank you to you... and poo poo on them. They need to get a real life or at least a part in one.

#205Typical Preview Process?

Thanks Linda.

I am curious and was wondering if anyone has any direct experience with or knowledge of how the process usually works for the cast and crew of a show like this while they are in previews? What time do they usually take for rehearsals and how long it normally takes them to work changes into the show?
