Hey, NathanLaneStalker, there already is an Elton John jukebox musical. It's called the Lion King. It's pretty bad, but you should see it anyway. jukebox musicals you would actually see?

The Spice Girls

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Springsteen is the obvious choice, since so many of his songs are story songs already.
You can open with Centerfield, segue to Rosarita, Hungry Heart (as she leaves him so he can run to Wendy and be) Born to Run ...

I saw this idea somewhere, Meat Loaf

i would love for someone to take Tori Amos' lyrics and create a musical. her songs are so beautiful and they definately tell a story.

I've loved her since seventh grade, but I really don't see any way that lyrics from various Tori songs could somehow tell a cohesive story. Post-Little Earthquakes, the lyrics within the songs themselves often don't tell a story -- in fact, I often think she takes spiritual-sounding phrases and just strings them together.

Even if they could somehow pull it off, I don't see any way that a musical based on Tori's work could be accessible to most. Again, I love her, but I just can't see it happening in any way.

CapnHook--Spice Girls, love it! (How can something possibly compete with Spice World though?)
I have said it before and I will say it again, I think a musical based off the music of the Ramones would be awesome.

Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

Oh man, Meatloaf would be AWESOME. I'd see it just for Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Though all the songs seem to be about the same thing.

I'll laugh if they're still doing this in 30 years and turn, I don't know, Bright Eyes' music into a musical. I'll die laughing. I'll just die!

I also like the Meatloaf idea.

CapnHook... I think they should just make the movie Spice World into a musical. All performers should be men in drag.
