*** Everything by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with the exception of EVITA. STARLIGHT EXPRESS is the worst of them. Also, THE PRODUCERS. I don’t find it that humorous.

Many of these I have seen in a regional prodcution. Some not however - King David, Miss Siagon, Sunset, and Carouseel I have not seen live.

This Nearly Was Mine

I identify most with Joe, but favorite character is Norma

What's your favorite scene from play 5?
I haven't seeen the show and can't comment

All the lyrics in "I'd Give my Life for You" are gorgeous

Unfortunately I'd have to say as a non-paraplegic or non-ghost, Scrooge.

No, it's the play I think has the most artistic merit, not that I listen to most frequently.

How many times have you seen play 3?
Once, but not on Broadway. Someone needs to launch a major revival.

If you could be anyone from play 6, who would it be? Why?
Hmm, perhaps Cliff in the original production, or the Emcee in the revival.

"The Light in the Piazza" or "Dividing Day"

Don't know.


Out of all these plays, which one is your absolute favorite?
Favorite to listen to is Sunset. Admire most West Side Story for artistic value.

Marin Mazzie, Patti LuPone

What's the best musical they turned into a movie?
The best musical turned into a movie would be West Side Story.
As for the best "movie musical" translation from stage, I'd say "The Sound of Music"
If I have to do a modern one, probably "Phantom of the Opera" which repaired a lot of the problems I have with the play even though Gerald Buttler was incredibly miscast.

Is there a musical you DON'T like?
Haha so many to count. Some that pop into mind: Chicago, RENT, Secret Garden, Civil War, Cats

See above. Why? The music is awful in all of them.

Do you think the movie versions are better, or the original Broadway plays?
I can't say. Depends on the project. Chicago is better as a movie. Phantom is better as a movie. Cabaret is far better as a musical as is Bye Bye Birdie.

Wicked or Chicago - Wicked (but only because Chicago is more horrid, not because Wicked is good)

Yes, I've seen most of them on Broadway. I've seen Rent, Wicked, and Les Mis on Broadway and tour. I've only seen a local productions of Camelot and Angels. I have not seen Sweeney live.
