Has Diana Degarmo's presence in the show made lotto or rush harder to get. My friend & I are heading up to NY on the Saturday after Prom (the 13th) to do lotto for Hairspray- has it gotten more popular since her presence?
A lottery is a way to get inexpensive seats to a show ($20-25). Usually two and half hours before a show, people can put their names on a card and drop it in a bucket (or whatever the show uses). Then, a half hour later, they draw names until all the allotted lottery tickets are used, and the winners can then purchase them. Usually they are for the front row, but not always. It was initially a way for students and those who don't make a lot of money to be able to purchase the best seats without having to pay a lot of money, but it has since degenerated into a touristy way of getting good cheap seats for those who can afford full price.
The title of this thread scared me. I thought they had moved the lotto seats back to the rear row of the mezzanine. I will cry the day that happens!
And Clumsy, two people at a Saturday matinee shouldn't be a problem. I've entered the Saturday matinee lotto several times with a friend and at least one of us has gotten called everytime.
