It makes me happy to see Harvey in the Edna drag again.

really? i'm kind of hoping for Keala Settle. I don't know when Shannon's contract is up or any of that, but I know the tour is over in June... so maybe Keala could take a little break and then make a transfer over to Broadway. That would be amazing. She's a star!
i heard her contract is up in june. but i heard keala will be in the vegas production sometime. katrina is in vegas until april 30th unless she signs longer. i enjoyed keala, alot, and really liked the choices she made with the role. but i felt she did curtain things too different. her "oh oh oh" are adorable but she doesnt always hit the last oh the right way. but when she does it sounds really adorable if you know what i mean. i also thought keala was pretty tall. i saw her with serge as link and they were the same height. but im hoping for katrina, christine danielson (cause shes from my area in nj) or michelle dowdy.

Keala is a great performer, but I would like to see someone younger play the part either on Broadway or the Hairspray movie. I just did a google search on Katrina, Christine (it's spelled Danelson, I believe (without the "i") and Michelle Dowdy. All have started as understudies. I found the most on Christine Danelson. It seems that she is really making a name for herself on the tour in various states. Obviously, Katrina has already moved up to star in the Vegas production and Michelle filled in quite a bit while Shannon was ill. It seems Hairspray sure knows how to pick its Tracys. Christine Danelson needs to play Tracy full-time SOMEWHERE. She is a true talent. Hopefully she will move to the Broadway company or headline the tour sometime soon.
YAY! I can't wait until my next visit to Las Vegas (I've never seen Hairspray before).
Although I'm still pissed that they shortened it to 90 min. Now the only broadway show in Las Vegas that stuck to its roots is Mamma Mia (which I saw and loved!). I feel kinda cheated since I can't make it to broadway, but I visit my grandparents every year in Las Vegas and it was my only connection to broadway shows... o well I guess there's always tours.
I have a paper with some rehearsal photos in it, but it's not available online. ....and I agree that she is way too thin. That was the only complain my friend and I had when we saw it.
I saw Christine when I saw the tour in Boston and she was great. The way she said Baltimore bugged me a little but other wise I wouldn't have guessed she was an US.
