Thats the first one I thought of when "sensual broadway song" was mentioned. However, I dont even really find it so sexual, maybe because of how it ws when I saw it performed
also the wordless "Swing" song that opens "Contact" is pretty sensual in my mind only because i can't hear the tune without picturing the staging and the man pushing the swing
Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo.
"wet" from steel pier- don't believe me? listen to brent barrett and jane krakowski sing it
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
I think Music of the Night is quite seductive. Such an entrancing song. However, I too thought of Jekyll and Hyde when I saw the word "sensual."
If you're for sexy then anything from Chicago or the Wild party. If you're looking for something raunchy like Contact, as mentioned above, then my vote has to do to the puppets with You Could Be As Loud As The Hell You Want (When You're Making Love). God, that has to be the longest song title ever.
"I haven't got a pail."
"Find your grail, your GRAIL!"
"But it's not missing. It's right on the counter where it's supposed to- defying gravity, my giant cup's gone!"
"Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes. How do you measure... measure a year?"
"How many times do I have to tell you, it's five hundred twenty-five thousand, five hundred and eighty-five point thirty-two minutes. You will never graduate if you keep basing your math on showtunes."
"You ruin Broadway for me."
"As well I should."
Craig, I never thought of "Unusual Way" as sensual, it was always rather very romantic and touching to me. Gotta go back and listen to it. Definitely "A Call From The Vatican" from Nine. "Special" from Avenue Q is rather raunchy not sensual though. And a song that is technically from a Broadway show, "Putting It Together," but that it's actually from a movie, the song "Sooner or Later" is very sensual as well written by Mr.Stephen Sondheim.
"Dangerous Game" definitely and "Point of No Return" in the Phantom movie was pretty sensusal. Adam and Heather singing "Elaborate Lives" 'I'd Be Suprisingly Good For You' from Evita.
