Borstalboy, my favorite scene in that movie. Pia Zadora was great, but even funnier was Ric Ocasek working on his painting.

I'm gonna have to disagree with ya Funky. I saw Carly's Tracy in Chicago, Jan of 2004 and then got to see Keala Settle in October of 2004. Keala rocks the roll of Tracy soooo much more. Wow; what a voice and she's absolutely amazing in the dance dept. Carly was good, but not what what I expected. But that's why we get to have our own opinions about shows re: Hairspray movie

Cheers,

C.

I think Latifah is too young for Motormouth.

It HAS to be Patti LaBelle. NO question about it.

I think Patti LaBelle would be great too. Or Chaka Khan! Or let Darlene Love play the part--she's a big enough name and a GREAT MOTORMOUTH!

Well Mr. Shaiman hasn't posted in awhile- too busy trying to give that Martin Short fella some kinda career I guess. Still this was supposed to go in Toronto in 06 and I know frm friends that there has been no key personel or studio space commited here so- hope aside- don't hold yer breath for this happening anytime soon.

Well, considering they are already starting auditions (since i've seen casting notices) ... I think the Hairspray movie is more possible then you may think

can I vent for a sec?
I don't like the fact that actresses that play Tracey are wearing fat suits! I love Shoshanna Bean to death but I just don't like her playing Tracy. I think that part should be given to someone who looks the part. I mean young character actress roles are so hard to find these days. I should know because I am one and I am sad that Bway is giving this wonderful unique role to young "ingenue" like girls. So I hope whoever gets to the play this in the movie version fits the part.

I thought Shoshanna was excellent in Wicked? When did she do Hairspray?

She was in the original cast, before Wicked, as Shelly and understudy to Tracy, Prudy, and the Matron.
