Seen the show twice. Saw it yesterday, as a matter of fact, and as soon as I got home I was looking up the next cheap ticket I could get, in hopes there would be one available for tonight. Alas, no luck!

i agree with you but when i saw the show her voice fit in with the role and made her more dramatic. i loved this show. maria friedman and michael ball were incredible
Am I the only one who didn't like the video? It just seemed way over-dramatic and every song they were belting it for the balcony. I must admit, Ball looked quite good (even though it did look like a cliche character).
I am extremely suprised to hear how absolutly AWEFUL the singing is in this musical. Maybe better singers will keep this show on Broadway?
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
OMG! The singers are amazing, I have seen the show 2 times and the clips are not very good. By the way "the ghost" is "the woman in white" , not the ghost, just to point it out, she is flesh and blood in the show. Her voice fits the part well. Sorry to sound mean, I was just clarifying.
yes, many singers in the ensemble really are immensely talented. Lisa Brescia, Michael Shawn Lewis and especially Elena Shaddow....all AMAZING singers.
I just saw the show on Friday night and LOVED IT! Such a unique and terrifying story! The understudies were on as Walter and Count Fosco, and although I was initially disappointed, THEY WERE FANTASTIC! Michael Shawn Lewis was on as Walter and he was AMAZING! And of course Maria was impressive and I am actually hoping that Jill Paice gets a Tony nom. for her portrayal of Laura! Everyone was great at the stage door! It was a wonderful experience!
