Yeah, I'm kind of curious if the whole ten seconds of mooing killed everyone's night too? Because there was plenty of mooing where I was and, sorry to say, it didn't make a difference to me.

re: Mooing in theatres

Anyone who MOOs in the movie theatre should have one of these inserted rectally.

Thinking of trying the lottery next week. How have the crowds been on Saturday? Both matinee and evening.
Also...does anyone know how many seats are raffled off?
Thanks for your help.

I was at a sold out midnight showing last night and the whole place started mooing. I was willing to tolerate the mooing as long as nobody sang.... and thank GOD nobody sang.

I just got home from it, thank GOD no one mooed. They did clap rhythmically with Seasons of Love and that was kind of annoying. Oh and someone didn't like that there was no music RIGHT AWAY and yelled START THE MOVIE.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

"It's absurd"

I think stage Maureen looking Bill Clinton straight in the face and saying "Moo with me" during a performance is ridiculous, but that's what makes it awesome.

That happened in my theater too exactly like that...are you on long island?

Sooooooo....

By the "no mooing" logic, I guess I shouldn't have clapped at the end of "Rent" when the camera panned over the neighborhood (like everyone else in the theater did), shouldn't have laughed out loud (like everyone else in the theater did) several times during the film, and, of course, I shouldn't have sung out loud (like everyone else in the theater did) during "La Vie Boheme?"

Guess I shouldn't have mooed, either. Drat.

and Judas, MY $7 says MOO in your bedroom....NOT in a theater.....VERY, VERY tacky, and totally rude to other people in the audience......
This isn't Rocky Horror, where it's expected and accepted.

No One mooed or sung at the performance I attended.

if you want to moo, buy the video when it is released, and moo in the privacy of YOUR own home.......

how utterly ridiculous

I think there is such a huge difference between mooing and singing along. Singing along is rude and obnoxious, during the film or the show, but mooing is something that is prompted during the show, and that a lot of fans have come to love about the character Maureen. As long as you are not mooing where moos are not intended, or being obnoxious in other ways (singing, laughing during non-funny parts, and other ways...) then I think mooing when Maureen asks is just fine.

When I saw it last night, almost everyone in the theater mooed and nobody sang. It was fantstic! A great trade off. The mooing didn't bother anybody, we were all just having a good time. Wouldn't you rather hear people moo for 10 seconds than sing the whole movie?

Pillowpants. 'Nuff said.

Jesus Christ I Hope you're kidding.

Mooing for the Stage version of Rent is okay. Its live, its interactive, shes speaking directly to you the audience member.

Movies are different. Theres an audience there.

However if I had to choose, I would throw something at the person singing along with the movie. Thats..just obnoxious, and chances are they're a ****ty singer anyways.

We saw it in Long Beach, California. My daughter and I mooed. No one else did. In fact the half-full house was very very silent until the end of the film, when there was nice applause.

Please note that Long Beach is not the culture center of the universe, and many times I believe that movie audiences here have been bussed in from Hooterville.

Show some spirit, MOO.

Enjoy yourself.

I mean why not? Could one minute of MOOING hurt a person that much?

I got back from the theatre, and I did moo.

It was ****ing awesome though.

Truth be told, there were only about 15 people there, and we basically all knew eachother except for the teen girls who only knew SOL.

During the blackness at the begining, they started singing,"5,250..." so I shouted shut up. I rock.

Everyone MOOed in my theater, including my friends and I. It wasn't really disruptive and pretty much everyone joined in. No big deal.

No singing though, thank GOD!
