I went to the Steel Magnolias stage door today and everyone came out except for Delta. The security guard announced that she had already left. I know the show closes this Sunday, and I really want to get her autograph on my Designing Women DVD. Does anyone know her history of coming out of the stage door after a performance?

Posted: 7/24/05 at 7:44pmMy boyfriend saw the show last week and said that she was the only one who didn't sign. After a half hour, the stage door manager announced that she left through an alternate exit. A friend of mine is involved with the show and said that Burke has health problems. Maybe that factors in.

Delta was VERY nice when I went a couple of months ago. I was out there in the drizzly rain (along with others) and she was patient and signed/took photos for everyone even though she was getting wet.
Christine Ebersole was the only one who didn't come out when I was there.

hmmm, maybe she just had someplace to be after the show the night I went? Or maybe she didn't want to stand out in the rain. I certainly wouldn't blame her for that one.
Not having met Christine though, I can honestly say that Delta was the nicest one when I was there.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 8:27pmI went to see Steel Magnolias back at the first of July and Delta was so very nice. She was the last to come out and her arms were full of packages. She said, "Hold on, everybody. Just let me set this stuff in the car and I'll be right back." She put her packages in the car and then signed and took photographs with everyone that wanted one. She spent a surprisingly long time with me and my friend. We were chatting about Designing Women and Sordid Lives. She was so very sweet, amazingly gracious and very down to earth. The only cast members I didn't get to meet were Christine Ebersole and Marsha Mason. Christine was getting in her car just as I made it to the stage door. Marsha only went down one side of the barricades and then got in her car.

Posted: 7/24/05 at 9:55pmshe didn't come out today after the show.. my firned was bumbed cuz thats the only reason we went to the stage door to get her autograph for adiffernt frined.. but the rest of the cast came out and where all very nice.
